Reinforcing its commitment to community development and education, Vena Energy, a leading green energy solutions company in the Asia-Pacific region, through its project company Gemini Wind Energy Corp., has signed a 25-year Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for a comprehensive scholarship programme with Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU).
The landmark agreement, finalized on 26 May 2026, guarantees long-term financial assistance to promising students, underscoring Vena Energy’s dedication to extending meaningful, generational support to its host communities in recognition of their continuous partnership.
The MOA was officially signed by the newly elected President of NwSSU, Atty. Lorielie F. Tangaran, DM. Serving as witnesses to the milestone event were NwSSU Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Romeo B. Santos, and Ms. Marivic Acuyong, representing Vena Energy.
“Our host communities are the backbone of our operations, and we believe that investing in their future is the clearest demonstration of our appreciation and support. This 25-year commitment ensures that we provide sustained, impactful assistance to the youth. By empowering these bright minds in STEM, we are helping them achieve their personal dreams while equipping them to become the future innovators of the province.”

Under the terms of the agreement, 10 deserving students enrolled in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)–related courses will be selected as scholars. Each recipient will receive financial assistance of PHP 25,000 per semester to support their academic journey. The scholarship programme will run for a continuous 25–year period, ensuring that multiple generations of students will have the resources they need to succeed.
“This historic partnership with Vena Energy is a monumental milestone for Northwest Samar State University and our students,” said Atty. Tangaran. “Beyond the vital financial relief it provides, this scholarship is a profound investment in the future of Samar. By supporting our STEM students today, Vena Energy is helping us cultivate the next generation of engineers, scientists, and local leaders who will drive sustainable progress in our province for decades to come.”
The NwSSU scholarship builds on Vena Energy’s ongoing community initiatives in Samar, which support young people from early childhood through higher education. It reflects Vena Energy’s commitment to the socioeconomic development of its host communities alongside its clean energy projects. The 10 NwSSU scholars join 28 others already supported by Vena Energy across its wider project portfolio in the Philippines, bringing the total to 38 scholars nationwide.
