Vena Energy Announces the Commercial Operation on Nakaura Wind Project in Japan

[Japan; 26 Sep 2025] – Vena Energy, the renewable energy arm of Vena Global Group Pte Ltd (“Vena Group”) and a leading green energy solution provider across the Asia-Pacific region, announced the start of commercial operation at the 7.5 MW Nakaura Wind Project in Saikai City, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan. Vena Energy has implemented a fully integrated business model for wind power generation, encompassing project development, EPC, and O&M entirely in-house. This vertically integrated approach enables Vena Energy to ensure superior quality control, optimize cost-efficiency, and leverage procurement synergies.

With the capacity to supply clean and renewable electricity to over 4,000 households annually, the Nakaura Wind Project is expected to help avoid approximately 8,700 tonnes of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and save up to 15 million litres of water each year, compared to conventional thermal power generation.

Mitsuyuki Segawa, Mayor of Saikai City, remarked: “We are deeply grateful that the Nakaura Wind Project in Saikai City has been successfully completed—thanks to the support and cooperation of the Nakaura community, all other stakeholders, and the dedicated efforts of Vena Energy. On behalf of the citizens of Saikai, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation.

In pursuit of Japan’s national goal of achieving carbon neutrality and a decarbonized society by 2050, Saikai City declared itself a ‘Zero Carbon City’ in 2021. Since then, our citizens, businesses, and government have been working together to advance various initiatives, including the introduction of renewable energy and the promotion of green industries.

This project is the first to commence commercial operations within the designated promotion areas of the zoning plan developed by Saikai City, and it represents both environmental conservation and regional revitalization.

Needless to say, the project is expected to generate significant ripple effects for local employment and the regional economy. We also anticipate substantial economic benefits from renewable energy extending across the entire prefecture.

Going forward, while making the most of Saikai City’s unique strengths, we will continue to work in close cooperation with Vena Energy, local companies, citizens, and stakeholders to pursue our own path toward a distinctive green transformation.”

Raul Rienda, Head of Japan in Vena Energy remarked, “We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Nagasaki Prefecture, Saikai City, for their warm understanding and continued support, which have been instrumental in enabling the commencement of commercial operations at the Nakaura Wind Project. Since 2021, Vena Energy has been operating a solar project in Nagasaki Prefecture. With the launch of our second project in the prefecture—the Nakaura Wind Project— we are honoured to deepen our contribution to the realization of zero-carbon in Nagasaki and across Japan.

Looking ahead, we remain committed to strengthening our partnerships with local communities, advancing the deployment of renewable energy based on the experience and expertise we have built, and contributing meaningfully to environmental preservation and the achievement of a carbon-neutral society.”
