Simone Grasso is a Partner at Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), now part of BlackRock, and serves as the Chief Investment Officer of Vena Group and the Global Head of Vena Nexus. Simone spearheads the company’s investment strategy and the development of AI-ready data centre infrastructure.
Simone holds an honours degree in Bioengineering from the Biomedical University of Rome, a Master’s in Management from the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris, and a Master’s in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Turin.
Prior to Vena Group, Simone served as a Principal in the energy team at GIP, where he played a pivotal role in the acquisition of GIP’s European renewable platform in Spain, GIP’s first investment in offshore wind in the German North Sea, and the establishment of Vena Energy.
Earlier in his career, he was part of the renewable energy team in the investment banking division of Credit Suisse in London, covering the sector across the UK, Germany, Spain, France, and Italy; including the listing of Enel Green Power, the world’s largest renewable IPO at the time.
Simone’s strategic vision and commitment to sustainable energy have earned him industry recognition. In 2024, he was nominated as Renewable Energy Leader of the Year at the 3rd Solar Energy Storage Future Malaysia, organized by Energy Box. This nomination highlights his commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions across the Asia-Pacific region.
