Vena Energy, Asia-Pacific’s leading renewable energy company, announced today it has been awarded the Renewable Energy Deal of the Year for the soon-to-be-completed 272 MW Yunlin E2 Solar Project in Taiwan, at the annual The Triple A Infrastructure Awards 2022. The award recognizes the NT$7.78 billion term green loan facility for the construction of the largest renewable energy project ever built in Taiwan, supported by a group of banks including DBS Bank (Taiwan), BNP Paribas (Taiwan Branch), Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank (Taipei Branch), E.Sun Commercial Bank, KGI Bank, MUFG Bank (Taipei Branch) Overseas Chinese Banking Corporation (Taipei Branch) and Standard Chartered Bank (Taiwan) as Mandated Lead Arrangers.

The Yunlin E2 Solar Project is built on 300-hectares of reclaimed and disused land off the coast of Taixi Township in Southern Taiwan. The first phase of the project amounting to 134 MW was commissioned in March 2022, with phase two expected to be commissioned at the end of year. Once completed, the Yunlin E2 Solar Project will have a capacity totaling 272 MW, capable of providing over 53,642 households with clean energy annually. Compared to thermal energy generation, the project will also save approximately 262 million tonnes of water while reducing over 185,503 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions yearly.
