We recently organized a “Beach Cleaning Family Day” in collaboration with the Wilderness Protection Association in Taiwan, to address the alarming issue of non-degradable single-use plastics that make up around 80% of marine waste. These plastics not only pollute the environment but also endanger marine life through ingestion. With the participation of 62 colleagues and their families, spanning multiple generations, the event included an ecological talk followed by a beach cleaning activity near the Xinxing Power Plant in Yunlin. In total, we collected and sorted over 400 kilograms of plastic, glass, and PET bottles within a 100-meter stretch. By getting everyone involved, we can work together to protect the environment and securing a better future for generations to come.
