Vena Group Partners with Bersama Adya to Advance Disability Inclusion in Bali

Team members from Vena Group in Indonesia have partnered with Bersama Adya, an Indonesian social enterprise focused on literacy, creativity and community empowerment, to support five organisations working with people with disabilities in Bali.

The initiative was held at Rumah Berdaya, a community rehabilitation centre in Denpasar that supports people living with schizophrenia. It extended support to five organisations in total: Rumah Berdaya itself, along with KPSI Simpul Bali, Teratai Foundation, Graha Nawasena and Yayasan Peduli Kemanusiaan (YPK) Bali.

The support was tailored to each organisation’s most pressing needs and included therapy and health equipment, arts and creative materials, and supplies to support productive activities. Vena Group also helped fund a photo exhibition, a book and a community website, creating additional platforms for participants and organisations to showcase their creativity, share their work and connect with a wider audience.

Rudy Sembiring, Head of Indonesia at Vena Group, said the partnership aims to create opportunities for participants to express their creativity and pursue greater independence.

“We hope this partnership with Bersama Adya provides participants with additional resources and opportunities to explore their creativity, showcase their abilities and continue building greater independence over the longer term.”

Bali Portal News covered the initiative on the day, including a short video in Bahasa Indonesia.

Speaking to the outlet, Adi Nataatmadja, Head of HSSE and ESG for Vena Group in Indonesia, said the partnership aligns with Vena Group’s commitment to inclusion and non-discrimination.

“We saw a strong alignment between our values and the work Bersama Adya is doing, which made this the right time to collaborate”

This builds on an earlier partnership between Vena Group and Bersama Adya focused on education. As with that programme, the company intends to continue working with Bersama Adya to understand the impact of this support and explore opportunities to provide meaningful support in the future.
