  • Households Powered is estimated based on annual residential electricity consumption per household in each country where Vena Energy operates. Consumption data is sourced from the International Energy Agency (2022), while household estimates are derived using population data from the United Nations (2023), and average household size data from the United Nations (2022), the Statista database (2022), and Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications Japan (2023).
  • Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Avoided is calculated on the assumption that the generation from renewable energy plants replaces an equivalent amount of electricity generated using coal, gas and oil sources. Country-specific avoided emissions are estimated using national emissions factors published in the UNFCCC Harmonized IFI Default Grid Factors 2021 v3.2.
  • Water Saved is calculated by comparing the water consumption of solar and wind power plants against the average water use associated with the national power generation mix in each country where Vena Energy operates. Country-specific water savings were estimated using national energy mix data from the International Energy Agency (2022–2023) and water use intensity factors from the study “Water Demand Scenarios for Electricity Generation at the Global and Regional Levels” by Terrapon-Pfaff et al. (2020).
  • Equivalent Cars Removed from the Road is estimated using the annual greenhouse gas emissions of an average passenger vehicle, based on data from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), last updated in November 2024.
  • Equivalent Trees Planted is estimated based on the amount of greenhouse gas sequestered by a medium-growth coniferous or deciduous tree planted in an urban setting and grown for 10 years, using data from the United States EPA, last updated in November 2024.
