President and Chief Operating Officer, Global Infrastructure Partners | Board of Directors

Rajaram Rao (Raj) is a Founding Partner, President and Chief Operating Officer of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), now part of BlackRock, Vena Group’s largest shareholder. He is a Senior Managing Director of BlackRock and a member of the firm’s Global Executive Committee. Mr. Rao previously led GIP’s global energy sector industry investment teams including natural gas, crude oil and refined products, electricity, renewables, and LNG. He is based in New York. Prior to GIP, Mr. Rao spent seven years at Credit Suisse and most recently served as a Director in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group of the Investment Banking Division of Credit Suisse. Prior to that Mr. Rao also worked at Barclays Capital in London and Kotak Securities in Mumbai. Mr. Rao is a qualified Electronics and Telecommunications engineer and holds an M.B.A. from the Faculty of Management Studies of Delhi University and a Masters in Finance from London Business School.
